Food and Wine

The Roman Castles have always been synonymous with good food and simplicity. This tour aims to seek out the special features of each town, stock up on it and find a old wine cellar for your meal as it was used once, when all the Romans came in the Castles on the weekend, bought food for the road and went to eat in taverns. At the time, they had to use the kitchen but merely to sell the wine. The service was rather spartan, but it was very funny. Alternatively you can arrange a picnic in one of the many public gardens which boast some of them even to the Roman ruins. It ‘a very fun tour, recommended for groups in which children are present, that can appreciate maybe a little less than the adults churches and monuments.
ITINERARY OF SPECIALTIES, OR TASTY TREATS: The tour of the specialties, as well as not neglecting the historical and cultural landscape of the area, will focus on the discovery of the most distinctive and famous local products. Not all products can be enjoyed throughout the year as some, like the artichoke, peculiar to a particular period. The tour will take account of the specialties and then will wind along the most appropriate route depending on the time in which we find ourselves. Not all specialties of the Castelli Romani are consumed sitting at the restaurant, we’ll organize from time to time trying not to lose anything of what the area has to offer.
